Event Format:
Due to issues with the event entry form and wording in the playing regulations all teams will be included in initial Pool play with 16 teams moving to a Single Elimination format.

Day 1: Pool Play (08:30am – 19:00pm approx.)
            Note: Some night matches on Centre Court

Day 2: Pool play & Main Draw Single Elimination (08:30am to 19:00pm approx.)
            Note: Some night matches on Centre Court

    Day 3: Main Draw Single Elimination (Semi-Finals & Finals – 10:00am to 5:00pm approx.)


Main Draw Information:
Main Beach, Surfers Paradise

Preliminary Inquiry: 7:30 am SHARP on the morning of Day 1 at Centre Court. All teams to sign in to confirm attendance / arrival.

                                     Technical Meeting 1: 07:45 SHARP on the morning of Day 1 at Centre Court. Confirmation of all Technical / Competition information.

                                     Technical Meeting 2:   Men - 10 minutes after the final Men’s pool game has been completed.
                                   Women- 10 minutes after the final Women’s Pool game have been completed.
                                   Draw for the Single Elimination phase will be released at this time.

Entry Fees:
All teams were required to pay an entry fee of $100 when registering into this event. As per the players handbook, teams who qualify for the top 16 phase, will be required to pay an additional $100 for qualification into the main draw. Cash and EFTPOS facilities will be available in the admin tent prior to the second technical meeting.

Each player will receive one playing top at the preliminary inquiry. Each player will receive 1 additional playing top upon qualifying for the single elimination phase. (This is subject to sufficient size & product availability).

  1. All teams must wear identical bottoms and tops as per FIVB regulations.
  2. Any requests to wear special uniforms should be made to the Tournament Director at the Preliminary Inquiry for approval.
  3. As all teams have at least 2 playing tops from the single elimination phase onward, opposing teams may not wear the same colour uniform in the same game.

Warm-up Balls:
Please be aware that players are responsible for their own warm up balls prior to their match. Two match balls per court only will be supplied.

Water will not be supplied to courts and players should bring their own water to the beach/courts as needed. Clean drinking water is available on the boardwalk.
